Mrs. Charlotte Watson
My name is Charlotte Watson and I am married to Israel Watson for 26 years. Our heart is to glorify God by reflecting the love of Jesus in everything we do. I am a graduate of Regent University with a Master’s
Degree in Business Administration. Prior to becoming a homeschooling mom, I worked for 10 years in the field of banking and accounting/auditing. Currently, my husband and I are the owners of Tidewater Mobile Upholstery and have been homeschooling for 20 years and counting. We have five children ages 25, 24, 22, 20 and 14. In addition to teaching my own children, I taught entrepreneur courses to
adults, and have been serving in Homeschool co-ops in various positions including teaching, administration, and board of director’s level positions. My teaching experience includes K-12th grade science, and middle school and high school language arts and writing. Our homeschooling philosophy comes from Proverbs 22:6 which states: “train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart”. Pouring into children and watching them grow “in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man” is my passion. It is my honor to work with you and your family.

As a single mother of three—ages 29, 27, and 14 through kinship care—I bring a lifetime of experience in education, ministry, and caregiving. I spent 15 years serving as a missionary in Honduras with Such As the Kingdom Ministries and World Indigenous Mission, where our mission focused on rescuing children from sex trafficking, abuse, and dangerous environments providing them with an education and a home to give them an opportunity to survive and thrive. My roles included housemother to twelve girls, principal of the mission school, and bilingual educator, teaching all subjects from preschool through twelfth grade in both Spanish and English. My deepest passions lie in Literature and History.
Upon returning to the U.S., I became the legal guardian of my nephew and two nieces. They are my greatest joy, and together we continue to grow and heal. During this time, I taught preschool and later served as a center director. My journey came full circle when I returned to homeschooling—something I experienced myself while living on the mission field. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I resumed homeschooling for my youngest child and several neighborhood children.
I am deeply passionate about history, storytelling, and the transformative power of literature. Mrs. Lauren affectionately calls me “the walking encyclopedia” of our co-op. I view history as “His story”—a tapestry of God’s redemptive work through time. I believe in teaching the full spectrum of history: the triumphs, tragedies, and the lives of both extraordinary and everyday individuals who shaped our world.

This course explores American history in reverse—starting with modern times and journeying backward to uncover the people, decisions, and events that shaped our nation. We’ll examine how individual choices impacted generations and how God’s hand is evident throughout our national story. Students will engage with multiple curricula, including Notgrass History, Abeka, original historical documents, and foundational texts such as the Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Preamble.
Class activities will include reading, writing, research, and presentations. Students will be encouraged to ask questions, explore answers, and respectfully engage in discussion—even when opinions differ. My goal is to inspire a love for history and help students recognize their role in continuing the legacy of faith and freedom.

Reading and writing are gateways to adventure and influence. This course invites students to explore diverse literary genres—fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and more—while developing their own voices through writing. Each class will be tailored to individual student abilities, with one-on-one support to strengthen grammar, composition, and communication skills.
We’ll use a variety of literary works, select Abeka Language Arts materials, and other resources to build a rich, engaging curriculum. My goal is to cultivate a love for reading and writing, foster confidence, and equip students with the tools to express themselves clearly and creatively.
