Preschool Program

We will be starting a Preschool Program in the Fall of 2024 under the direction of Mrs. Nikkia Tolbert along with an additional Teacher Assistant, Mrs. Joy Blake, both of whom have much experience working with early learning.  It will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for the Morning Class, and from 12:30 to 3 p.m. for the afternoon class, and will be tailored for ages 3 to 5/6. Students will break into two learning groups during their learning time to tailor the learning to each age group specifically

The cost will be $175/month for the morning program, and $150/month for the afternoon program, with scholarships and sibling discounts available for an additional $25 per sibling. Students who are five or older will need to be legally registered as homeschoolers by the parents, and students ages 4 and below must have a parent onsite, even if not volunteering directly with the program.

Parents may relax in the coffee area or at the outdoor picnic tables, or volunteer at the co-op.  Our program will accommodate up to 10 students with a ratio of two to three adults in the classroom at any given time.  All students must be potty-trained.  Parents may also apply to help out in the classroom for a tuition discount, or may drop off at full price.  Registration is $150 early bird and $200 after March per family, in addition to a small Materials fee due per student by September before the program begins.  Read more below about the Program and about Mrs. Tolbert:

   Mrs. Joy, Preschool Assistant Director

Hello, My name is Joy Blake. I joined Global Christian Co-op in 2023 as a volunteer and group learning art teacher while my son Cyrus attended classes. I enjoy being a part of GCC as I get to see how the Lord is working in the lives of the students, teachers, and all who are involved. I am so blessed to be a part of this CoOp as I can see how much the students learn not only educationally, but spiritually as well. I am happily married to my husband Benjamin, and we have one amazing son, Cyrus. My husband and I love the Lord and are involved in multiple ministries in our church as we want to share God's love and fulfill the calling we have on our family.

I have always had a love for creativity and using my God given abilities to spread joy and encouragement, as well as to teach others how to use their creativity. I attended Regent University for animation, art, and psychology as I have a love for art and art therapy and want to use my talents to inspire and encourage children and young adults. Although I have not completed my degree, God has given me opportunities through the ministries I and my husband have been and are a part of to use the knowledge and experiences I received while in college.

I have worked as an assistant preschool teacher, recreational instructor, nursery worker, nanny, and art lesson leader over the years. I have experience working with children all ages from infant to young adult; to assisted living and homecare services for the elderly. I believe God has given me a loving, caring, and patient heart to work with people of all ages and backgrounds, and I'm so excited to be a part of the GCC preschool!
